The New Kitteh

IMG_20130926_192950Here is the latest addition to our family, Socks. Aka Sock-ey. I forgot how fun and painful it can be to have a kitten running around the house. Glaring at the birds. Glaring at the rat. She hasn’t glared at the leopard gecko or tarantula yet, thank goodness. She definitely earns her keep by going after the stinkbugs that have invaded our home. Last night we caught her climbing into the bottom of Ms. Cleo’s cage from which she was quickly extracted.

The Mutant Kitty still wants nothing to do with her, he’s avoiding her like the plague. He turns into a krabby patty around us even when she’s clear on the other side of the house. He is no longer my bathroom buddy when I get ready for work in the morning. That’s some mighty strong resentment there.

Ah, well, such is life with a zoo in the house. But their antics make it much more worth coming home to in the evening.

It’s Friiiiiiiiiiiiiday!

Austin Friday
Good happiness Friday afternoon! I’m excited as our Maine Coon mix Austin is that today’s Friday. This means lots of time to catch up on sleep this weekend and play with the birdies and newest addition to our family, Socks. Her picture can be found on the “cat bunch” page.

Socks is a (I think) 12-week old kitten that we got from a friend of ours. She’s a wonderful little ball of energy who is so darn curious and cute at the same time. I think she’s really taking a like to our Cleo, as she couldn’t stop standing up against the cage staring at her sitting up top. She loves to make biscuits and with her little nails, it can be painful but cute so we just let her go. Now the other cats, that was one big hissing fest. Moby is the only one who didn’t care and didn’t pay her any mind. Dewey, the Mutant Kitty, was sooooo upset that he went into the bedroom and hid the rest of the nite. Whenever I walked by, I got a 7-toed slap from him as if he were saying to me “Why did you bring that in here?!” I picked him up and even got 7-toed slapped a couple of times in the face. He was one pissed puss last nite! He seemed a little better this morning as he resumed his normal Bathroom Buddy duties. Jeddah looked at her, they sniffed noses and went their separate ways. So over the next few days there’s going to be some craziness going on with The Blesh Bunch but it’s going to be well worth it!
